With over 17 years of expertise in personal and organizational behavior change management, training and development, quality management, business process improvement, project management, developmental education, and social research in private industry, government, and nonprofits, Ms. King sets high standards for her team and can aptly guide clients to set and exceed standards of excellence for their businesses.
As a child, I wanted to be a psychologist to help people solve their problems.
Upon her teachers’ wise urging, she studied engineering instead. Ms. King found fulfillment as a sole proprietor tutoring youth and adult students who were deathly afraid of math. After earning her bachelor's degree in 2000, she volunteered for many nonprofits as a substance abuse recovery coach and youth mentor. In 2005, she resigned her post as an engineer to found International Freedom Coalition, a nonprofit dedicated to building strong families, and lead a two-year ethnographic research study on risky migrations in Spain, UK, and Mexico.
Thus, her career seemed to come full circle in 2015 when she advanced to Regional Quality Control Manager for one of the 'Top 10 Largest' nonprofit DoD contractors in Washington, D.C. that employs individuals with significant disabilities.
I was so excited! Finally, my passion, education, and previous achievements merged beautifully as one. I thought to myself I have arrived!
However, Ms. King observed many practices that were questionable and for which her superiors could provide no solid answers. In 2016, CNN announced the launch of a federal investigation into the government program and its largest contractors for long-term corruption. It was all clear. As a result, Ms. King tendered an involuntary resignation after only eight months in the position.
The experience and unplanned departure led to serious financial complications. Nonetheless, the experience only strengthened Ms. King's resolve to use her gifts and graces to ensure the provision of human services with uncompromising Christ-like standards. She started Beacon Pinnacle Advisors and Nikki House Books immediately after resigning and organized and led an educational aid mission to Sierra Leone, West Africa, before returning to her native Houston in 2017. After more prayer, she heard God's call to only serve leaders with ministries dedicated to building His Kingdom.
In the private sector, Ms. King was awarded for her QA / Systems Integration and Test role in the success of a $26M project with Six Sigma innovator Motorola. In the public sector, she led International Freedom Coalition to pioneer the first-in-nation Homeless Bill of Rights. In the government sector, Ms. King managed the quality and continuous process improvement for a $70M portfolio of contracts, finding economies that led to $240,000 in savings within the first 30 days of implementation. Moreover, she brings 10 years of expertise in the entertainment industry as actress, performance artist, brand spokesperson, and contract negotiator. Ms. King has served clients in the U.S. and Europe in theatre, TV, film, and voice overs working with such legends as Martin Sheen; earning roles in shows like the Radio City Christmas Spectacular; filming corporate training videos for PetSmart and others; and being the featured on-screen and voice talent in commercials for international giants Renault and AmbiPur.
